Review: Carbon Laser Peel Treatment at IDO’s Clinic

Hello there!

If you read my previous post here, you’ll know that I mentioned about winning something from the treasure hunt game at the bloggers’ party event. I was fortunate enough to get a complimentary treatment of the Carbon Laser Peel worth RM400 per session at IDO’s Clinic! So me being me, I couldn’t wait any longer so I booked an appointment yesterday evening at their Kota Damansara branch. Same as their Puchong branch, the clinic has that very comfy vibe goin on so I was all into it.

A little info on the Carbon Laser Peel treatment:

Carbon Peel Laser provides instant cleansing, brightening and rejuvenating to your skin.

Laser beam is focused on skin that has been covered by a thin layer of carbon of micro to nano size. Skin pores are simultaneously minimized, the growth of connective tissue increases while the carbon particles exfoliate the skin and purge skin pores.

So basically in layman’s term, they’ll apply carbon on my skin so that the laser will work more effectively and penetrate deeper into the skin because as we all know, black generates heat. Carbon Laser Peel is suitable for acne prone and dull skin and great at reducing acne scars so just imagine my excitement.

My treatment began with face cleansing and yes I left my eye makeup on because the treatment is not done around the eye area.

Followed by a consultation session with DR Gan who performed the laser on me. Excellent doctor and very detailed at explaining the whole procedure to me so that I feel comfortable and understood everything fully because I’ve never had any laser treatments done on my face prior to this one. The session ended with me feeling excited but afraid at the same time, blurting out “Okay DR lets do disss!”

IMG_6135To start off the laser process, a layer of carbon was applied evenly on my face. The nurse was really careful when doing it, she went back and forth making sure that everything’s all set and ready to go.

During the first minute, the pain was pretty intense for me and they even stopped and gave me a cushion to hug coz I was holding onto the blanket like it’s my life hahah. So thanks for noticing and being uber sweet to me! 🙂
IMG_6138There’s also some sort of a burning smell but fear not, it wasn’t my skin burning, it was the carbon, and from the picture you can see that as the laser moves across my face, the carbon disappears. After a while, I got used to the process and the pain was actually really bearable, ain’t that bad after all. Dr Gan was pretty gentle and precise so the whole process went on smoothly without a hitch for about 15-20 minutes.

With all the heat that was going on from the laser, they applied a soothing gel mask to cool my skin down and it felt sooooooooooooo good!

My final verdict? Pretty happy to report that Im GLAD that I won the voucher for this amazing laser treatment. My skin felt incredibly smooth literally like a baby’s bottom and it looked so much brighter, clearer and plump right away, like immediately. Too good to be true, it’s pretty unbelievable. I couldn’t stop touching my face all the way back home (bad, i know) and I wish you can touch my face and feel the amazing-ness too. But you cant so just take my word for it hahaha.

The best thing about Carbon Laser Peel is that there’s no healing time. The name can be a little misleading coz there’s no peeling involved which means you can go about your day and not having to hide behind a mask. It won’t interfere with your daily makeup routine either. Another plus point is that it gets rid of facial hair too! It will bleach the facial hair and then after a week or so it’ll all fall off! YAY. Lol I hate facial hair.

Here’s a before & after picture that I took right before I left for the treatment and when I reached home. Honestly, this picture doesn’t do my skin any justice compared to the vast difference in real life but that’s the best I can do.

This morning I woke up with the softest skin and my make up went on so effortlessly. Can this get any better?….. A photo of my skin this morning taken with my phone’s camera. No edit, no filter. But am I glowing or what? :p

You’re so pretty, Bellabae! I was thinking to take this treatment too. Especially when you said it can remove facial hair. Hahaha, I look like a man with facial hair… 😦

Thank you, you’re so sweet! I love this treatment the most! But it doesn’t remove all facial hair though. To remove facial hair, I go threading or sometimes shave with brow razor coz I look like a man too sometimes haha xx
