Hey y’alls. I was cleaning out my skincare drawer and found a few products that didn’t actually live up to my expectations and I thought I’d share it with you so maybe you’ll save some bucks. But first I’d like to say that when it comes to skincare, different products work for different skin types so it’s a very subjective matter. What I’m about to share with you might truly work for others but it didn’t do much for my skin type which is combination and acne prone. So lets dig in!
BLISS Micro Magic Spa Powered Microdermabrasion Treatment
This is one of the most expensive face scrub I own (almost rm200) and I used to like it coz it’s really gentle. BUT after I used the ST IVES Blemish Control Green Tea Scrub (full review here) which is only a fraction of the price of this I might add, I find that this one didn’t really do anything to my skin and it didnt give me the same satisfaction and clean feeling as the St Ives.
- Avene Cleanance Mask
I give up on the Avene Cleanance range. Both the face wash and mask irritates my skin. Could be one of the ingredients in it but I’m like allergic to both products that I tried from this range. So into the trash it goes.
- Michael Todd True Organics Intensive Organic Eye Treatment
I recently bought this and I really wanted to love it so badly and I’m so sad that it didn’t agree with me. I tried it for about a week and its been decided that this eye treatment is not for me. It felt like it was burning my eyeballs O.O. The consistency is a little too oily and heavy for me and it takes forever to absorb into the skin so I couldn’t use it under makeup. Currently I’m using an eye cream that I’m kinda fallin in love with? I’ll share with you soon 😉
This product claims to help lighten pigmented scars but nope it did not. No significant difference on my scars whatsoever. Maybe I didn’t use it as constantly as I should but nahhh, not a good one.
- Mario Badescu Drying Cream
This smells horrible. I’m usually not a brat when it comes to scents but this one here stinks. If it works, I honestly would bare the horrid smell but too bad it didn’t and for that, I dislike it even more haha. My pimple looks exactly the same as the night before when I apply this.
- OXY Cover
If you wanna burn your skin and be left with a horrendous mark, get this! (But no please don’t). This left me with with a burnt patch that took forever to get rid off. I honestly do not recommend this to anyone I think it’s too harsh and intense for any skin. Total nightmare
- Benzac AC 5%
I bought this out of desperation and it was the first thing I saw on the rack and I grabbed it. Didn’t make any sort of difference even after a continuous use. Will be tossed aside.
- Clean & Clear Speed Clearing Gel
This made me clench my teeth after I applied it to a zit coz it burnsssss baby burn. I like the scent and that it can be used under makeup since it’s clear. It does work on smaller zits but nothing too great altogether for me.
So yeah. Those are the skincare products that are disappointing to me. Major letdown. I hope this helps you in any way that it can. Thanks for being here with me! xx
