Hi y’alls. Happy new year!
I’m finally out of the negative haze from my previous post and now it’s time to talk makeup wit chu guys which makes me the happiest! I’ve never done any brand focus post coz I dont necessarily have many items from a particular brand but TARTE is an exception! I came across this brand last year at Sephora and it kept impressing me more and more. One thing led to another, now I have 14 TARTE stuff that I thought I give a mini review for you guys on each of the items.
This foundation is kinda like a moussey thick texture and it glides on nicely even without primer. Although the consistency is super thick, it feels light on the skin. The coverage is definitely full and if set with powder, it lasts a good 5 hours before I need to blot. 12 hours? not so much…lol. I apply this with my beauty blender and it gives a non cakey beautiful finish.
I’ve been through a couple of these, as mentioned in my makeup empties post here. I absolutely adore this for several reasons. The texture of this powder is so smooth and insanely buttery, also keeps my face matte too. Even though it’s a foundation, I use this on top of liquid foundation to set it and it’s never too much.
I don’t usually buy the designated brush that’s “supposed” to be used with the foundation for the perfect finish coz I think thats bull but this Airbuki Bamboo Foundation Brush makes it super duper easy to apply. A little costly but worth it in my opinion coz it’s dense and really press the product into the skin.
This just just a basic translucent loose powder to set concealers and foundations with. I didnt really like it in the beginning coz it somehow made my concealer and foundation darker, but I’m kinda lovin it now after giving it another shot. I only use this on my super oily areas and it mattifies it instantly and keep it that way longer than other powders. Will I repurchase though? Nahhh coz I dont think I’ll ever run out of this haha.
Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in Exposed
If you dig makeup as much as I do, you would’ve heard the hype that’s going around bout these Amazonian blushes. I wanted to try this so bad but it’s expensive so I was lucky enough to stumble upon a mini one at Sephora Starhill’s counter for less than rm50. I grabbed the last two and did not regret. This blush stays on all day and it’s so friggin pigmented. I think it’s unnecessary for them to make it so big in the regulars but I definitely think it’s worth the money. Their shades are pretty too.
Cheek Stain in True Love
Like the powder blush, this also stays put all day. Problem that I’ve had with stains or liquid blushes, its a little tricky and interferes with my makeup usually. But this one wont do that even if it’s applied on top of a powdered face. This is not like those Benefit cheek and lip tints where it’ll leave a streak or a mark if you dont work with it fast and I mean FAST. This one is blendable and you can take your time applying it. Lovessssss it
Also a mini one which I got in a set that my friend gave me as one of my birthday gifts. This isn’t the matte one but ofcourse it’s pigmented and long lasting as well. No surprise here. Not available in Malaysia I have no idea why. In fact, most bronzers are not available here. WHY… we also need to bronze up what. haha
Got this along with the bronzer and I tried this on my face once and it was niceeeee haha. But it doesn’t last long and I don’t see the point of it so maybe I’ll continue using this one my arms or something to finish it up.
Don’t care much for this. I used this twice and wasn’t impressed whatsoever.
Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Plummy Rose
This has got to be my favorite lipstick in the history of the world. Kinda exaggerating but yeah. I LOVE THIS. I have this in Plummy Rose and oh my god it’s so gorgeous. It’s moisturizing and feels so comfortable on my lips. The color isn’t completely opaque or pigmented but if you layer it, it’s pretty damn neat. This has been the only lip product that I’ve been wearing since I got it.
Lip Surgence Matte Lip Tint in Fiery
Pigmented, Opaque. A teeny bit drying but nothing a lip balm can’t handle. Gorgeous red color that doesn’t bleed and it’s in a pencil shape so it’s pretty easy to apply and not messy.
I’m not certain of the exact color of this coz I cant find the box but it’s either Blissful or Tipsy. Not really a fan of glosses and I got this in a Lip Kit that I bought in Sephora Singapore but this aint too bad. Not too sticky and it looks great on top of any lipstick.
I’ve used up 1 full sized and 1 mini sized of this mascara. This is my second mini tube so that kinda says a lot. I love this mascara coz it makes my lashes look so long. But the formula is a tad wet and I dont like using it on my bottom lashes coz it takes a while to dry and sometimes it gets everywhere under my eyes.
Lets end this post with THIS amazing baby that I recently purchased. My fav mascara of all time. It gives volume and length to my lashes and the formula is perfect, not clumpy too. As perfect as a mascara can be. I use this for both my top and bottom lashes and its the bomb! Removing it is not a chore. Much easier compared to the Lights Camera Splashes one and it’s worth every single penny and dime spent on it.
Swatches from left: BB Tinted Primer in Light, 12 Hr Full Coverage Foundation in Light Medium Honey, Brazilliance, Cheek Stain in True Love, Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, Park Ave Princess Bronzer, Matte Lip Tint in Fiery, Butter Lipstick in Plummy Rose, Lip Gloss.
So yeah! That’s all guys. TARTE is definitely one of my fav brands and it’s cruelty and paraben free which means it’s sensitive skin friendly! If you’re interested, you can get them at Sephora or Zalora. To get 15% off your first purchase at ZALORA, use the code ZBAPQWN3 and yes 15% off TARTE products is more than the member discount Sephora has to offer. Have fun shopping! xx
