Review: Laneige BB Cushion (Pore Control)

Thing I love most about makeup is the base. Foundations with matte finishes, satin finishes, luminous finishes, BB, CC creams and all that jazz. I love trying out new foundations and usually gravitate towards full coverage liquid foundations. But lately since I been watching Asian makeup channels on YouTube and it was filled with BB cushions, curiosity got the best of me so I bought me some Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control last month at Sunway Pyramid.. I am obviously late onto the bandwagon but better late than never la ok? haha

Packaging & Price

I notice that BB Cushions from different brands have the almost same plastic packaging. A little bulky but still very much travel friendly. I brought mine with me to my recent Bangkok trip and it held up pretty well. It retails at RM150 with a refill included. So it’s pretty affordable in my opinion since you get 2.

Although this is my first time trying a “cushion”, I got the hang of it pretty quickly and i fell completely in love with how easy it applies. Total time saver when getting ready in the morning. I use the patting motion on my face because I heard never to swipe it across the face.

Coverage, Finish & Longevity

I was very surprised at the coverage to be honest. Since its a “BB cream” so to speak, I expected light to medium coverage but this gave me quite a full coverage and even better than some of my foundations. It covers most of my acne scars. It’s very buildable too and not cakey even after 2-3 layers of application on the same area. It  has a demi matte finish on my skin and sets well without feeling sticky.

I set this with powder and it lasts me the whole day! I put it to the test in Bangkok with a whole day of shopping and walking under the sun and by the time I got back to the hotel room at the end of the day, it still looked very decent and I was pleasantly surprised, again! I ended up using this throughout the whole Bangkok trip and ditched my Estee Lauder Double Wear altogether which I also brought with me to Bangkok.

This did not cause me any breakouts or irritations on my acne prone skin. The way it applies is so easy that its totally fool proof! Only downside to it in my opinion is that the sponge applicator is pretty hard to clean compared to my Beauty Blender. If you’re lazy to clean the sponge, it can also be pretty unhygienic and turn into a breeding ground for germs so remember to clean! I give Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control a two thumbs up and I definitely recommend this!

Hi, I was wondering what shade you are in the Estee Lauder double wear foundation? Just a shade reference as I’m which unsure shade to purchase in this since I’ve read the laniege shades run darker?
