Review: Bioderma Cleansing Water vs Innisfree Green Tea Pure Cleansing Water

Taking off my makeup is probably the best part about getting home at the end of the day because as much as I love makeup, taking it off and having a clean face feels super good after a long day of work. Do you feel me?

I’ve been using Bioderma for more than a year now and before it came into Malaysia, I used to get it from Singapore and since then, it has been one of my skincare staples. I still try out other cleansing products but Bioderma was always just there.

I’ve been growing to love Innisfree’s products since it landed in Malaysia a couple months back so when I saw that they have a Green Tea Pure Cleansing Water, I had to try it out because I’ve never heard anyone talking about it and curiosity got the best of me, as usual la. I’ve been testing it out for a couple of months now and I thought I’d do a comparison between the two in case anyone wants a cleansing water and debating on which to get.

  • Packaging

They both come in standard plastic bottle packaging but I much prefer the Innisfree onebecause it’s more sturdy and it comes with a pump dispenser, super handy! Bioderma actually has that same pump packaging too but that version isn’t available in Malaysia. So… bummer.

Since these are cleansing “waters” so its pretty hard to control the amount of product that comes out and I find that I ended up wasting a ton of product while tilting the bottle of Bioderma. The pump actually dispenses just the right amount needed and nothing extra. So boo Bioderma!

  • Scent

Bioderma is like straight up water, only a slight hint of medicine-y scent.

Innisfree’s one however, has a “green tea” scent but it’s pleasant to me and it doesnt bother me much. But if you are offended by scents in facial products, Innisfree GTCW is definitely not for you.

  • Price

Bioderma is a bit up there in price and retails for RM99.88 for 500 ml, RM75.90 for 250ml and rm42.90 for 100 ml.

Innisfree Green tea Pure Cleansing Water is priced at RM44 for 300ml which is a hugeee bang for your buck!

  • Overall thoughts

Aside from the price and scent, they definitely don’t differ much in terms of effectiveness at all. Both cleansing waters works the same at getting rid of all the makeup on my face. They are gentle on the skin and doesn’t leave any uncomfortable sticky residue behind at all. But ofcourse, I always go in with a separate face wash after that coz double cleansing is just my thanggg.

Both of these products remove my waterproof eye makeup brilliantly BUT Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Water sting my eye ballz a little bit compare to Bioderma which is so gentle that even if it gets in your eye, you won’t even feel it.

If you’re on a budget, I’d say go for the Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Water coz it performs just as well as Bioderma at more than half the price and not to mention the convenient pump packaging. You can always buy a separate eye makeup remover if you have sensitive eyes (the drugstore has good ones). But if you wanna skip all that hassle and just use one product for your convenience, I’d say go with Bioderma.

*Bioderma is available at selected Guardian Pharmacies/ Guardian Online store.
