Review & Swatches: NARS Dual Intensity Blush

I cant even begin.. My excitement when I received these babies from NARS was real. I have been eyeing these blushes since I saw them going viral on YouTube so getting to try them out and reviewing it for you guys is just pure bliss. And what are the odds, NARS sent me the two shades that I wanted; Panic & Craving eee 😀 Thank you NARS Malaysia!

These blushes were released as a part of their Spring Collection a couple months back in the States and made its way here to Malaysia recently. There are 6 in total in the collection with 12 beautiful shimmering/sparkling shades to complement all skintones. Check out the other shades HERE

The cool thing bout these are that they can be used WET/DRY. Using it wet will give a watercolor effect and a subtle wash of color on the cheeks and the pigmentation is superb for using it dry too. And they’re almost too pretty to use.

  • Packaging

I don’t really like getting into packaging details as you know but just a brief one right here. This one comes in the usual rubbery NARS packaging which isnt exactly my favorite coz they collect dust and dirt but that aside, it has a magnetic closure which is nice and I love the fact that it’s small and compact and doesn’t take much room. Oh and ofcourse, they’re black.. my favorite color when it comes to makeup packaging  😀

  • Color, Pigmentation, Formulation

The colors of these blushes might seem a teeny bit scary at first because lets admit it, they are preeeety bright but the best thing is, they’re not those type of blush where you’ll get straight up clown cheeks with just one sweep. It’s very buildable meaning you can work slowly on building up the colors to your liking and at the same they are pigmented. Which makes it easy to work with and fool proof so yay!

The formulation is unique; not a cream, not a mousse, and it’s not powdery at all. It’s some sort of a hybrid. Although these are not matte as the name would suggest, they are not full on shimmery either. Once they’re on the cheeks, they leave the most beautiful sheen and gives the most natural finish. They lasts ALL DAY on my cheeks too and I blot my face a couple of times throughout the day and this blush never gets patchy.

Okay enough of blabbering. Lets get into the fun part 😀

  • Swatches

This is the perfect one if you’re a blush junkie like me. I would recommend this out of all of them because it has the perfect shades that will complement so many different skin tones. A fuchsia shade and an orange tone blush so you’ll practically get full use out of both the colors coz they’re everyday wearable shades.

It’s also great for travelling because its compact and has 2 staple shades of blush that you’ll need for any given occasion or just swirl your brush in the middle to get the best of both worlds.

This, I consider as the bronzer and highlight shades. I use the bronzing shade only to warm up certain parts of my face like a teeny bit on the cheeks and my forehead. The highlight shade I use for the top of my cheekbones and also the inner corner of my eyes.

They are so beautiful guys.. I just cant. I really really recommend these if you’re in need of a bronze/highlight. Again, these shades are perfect for travelling. They’re all you need. Somehow they show up differently on the cheeks and the shimmers are more subtle so it looks like a healthy glow.

Craving & Panic on the face

Its no surprise that I ended up falling head over heels for these cheek colors. NARS is a brand that will never disappoint and I’m a massive fan of their products. Full review on my complete NARS makeup collection HERE.
