Review: Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate

I have never been more excited to write a review on a product like I am for this one mainly because I had a massive change of hearts with it. I got this a while back when I attended an event with Kiehls (full post HERE) and I have been playing around with it since then. First lemme explain to you what this product is:

A lightweight facial oil that keeps skin looking radiant all day

  • Strengthens skin’s defenses against daily aggressors to keep skin youthful and radiant-looking all day
  • Provides antioxidant protection with a powerful blend of naturally-derived oils, including Ginger Root, Sunflower and Tamanu, to help skin feel fresh and look energized morning to night
  • Paraben free, 100% natural origin, Mineral oil free, Non-comedogenic, Non-acnegenic

This facial oil is meant for the daytime as opposed to their famous Midnight Recovery Oil that’s meant for the night time. Daily Reviving Concentrate can be used under makeup and in our humid weather. That sounds a little scary right? Applying oil under makeup O.O? But I’ll get into that later!

So now I’ll fill you in on my skin type. I had oily but dehydrated acne prone skin up until early this month once my Oratane pills started kicking in. So my skin transitioned from what was oily to now normal/dry. I have to be honest that when I first tried it on my oily skin last month, I wasn’t really a fan because I applied a little too much and my skin was already oily so it didnt help my case when it comes to keeping my makeup matte. But now I LOVE THIS OIL LIKE NO OTHER. Lets get into the deets:

  • The Product

It comes in a glass bottle with a dropper which is pretty standard for facial oils if you ask me. I brought it with me on a trip recently and it held up pretty well. It has a refreshing citrus scent that I adore which does a pretty good job at waking my skin up in the morning and feels like a treat applying it. The consistency of the oil is not too thick and it doesn’t go on heavy and sinks into the skin really fast and you dont have to linger or wait too long to apply your makeup on top of it.

  • My Morning Skincare routine:

Cleanse > Tone > Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate > SPF > Makeup

  • Overall Thoughts

I have been including this in my morning skincare routine for a couple weeks now and I am beyond obsessed. With my skin feeling tight and dry in the morning sometimes from being on Oratane and all, just one drop of this oil makes a world of a difference.

My skin has been feeling so hydrated and looking so plumped after I started using this I’m not even joking. I dont even apply moisturizer over it because this alone, is enough to hydrate my skin throughout the day.

So when my skin transitioned and became dry, I had a bit of a culture shock HAHA and my makeup didn’t look its best for weeks while I was getting used to it and trying out ways to make my skin glowy and healthy with makeup.

My face was dry and my makeup looked a little too cakey for my liking. That was actually the main reason why I thought it was time to give this product a second go since it was a day time oil and boy did it work like magic! It changed my makeup game for real, it has never looked nicer. My makeup goes on beautifully on top of this facial oil and it stays that way the whole day. My skin doesnt look overly oily, it just looks nice and healthy and I’ve never been happier.

IMG_1499-horzI know I’m raving massively but it’s rare for me to find a skincare product that makes me this excited haha. I highly recommend this product because it did a 180 on my skin and if you are going to try it, I hope it will do good things for yours too! Kiehl’s is very good with samples so you can always go to their store and ask for one to try it out.

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate is available at all Kiehl’s stores nationwide for RM220 each.

OMG, when we pass a certain age it changes! I had normal skin which is now becoming combination dry skin! I was flabbergasted when the things I used to do when I was younger don’t work on me now.
