Review: NARS Audacious Mascara & NARS Kohliner

NARS has always done it for me when it comes to their face products so I was naturally pretty psyched to finally try out their eye products; NARS Audacious Mascara & NARS Kohliner. I’ve been using these products ever since I got them at the NARS Audacious Mascara Launch last month at their new flagship boutique in KLCC . I’ve made up my mind bout them so I can share it with you guys now. First, some photos from the event 🙂

So let’s get into the products!

  • NARS Audacious Mascara, (Black Moon, RM110)

NARS Cosmetics introduces the new Audacious Mascara for Fall 2015. Audacious Mascara lets you go to extremes—the eye’s the limit. Always layers to your desired intensity with clean precision. The unique combination of NARS’ exclusive lash-catching brush and buildable formula allows you to reapply throughout the day to magnify lashes on command. Eyes on. Game on.

I’ll just say it now, I LOVE this mascara. I haven’t had such good luck with mascaras lately but this one, I completely adore. The formula to me, is perfection. It’s not too wet that it gets all over your lids when you apply it and it’s not too dry that you feel as though you’re applying nothing.

IMG_3220-vertIt’s VERY buildable I can do 3 layers of this and it wont clump or get “crunchy” if you know what I mean. It stays looking soft and perfect all day long. This mascara separates and lengthens my lashes so well and after curling my lashes, it keeps the curl on the whole day too. What else can a girl ask for in a mascara? haha. Also, it’s a breeze to take off. I don’t need a separate eye makeup remover to take this off, Bioderma does the trick with this one.

The brush of this mascara makes it so easy to for me to coat my lashes from the roots because of the way it was designed which is with over 200 molded bristles and lengthening hooks. I honestly have nothing bad to say bout this. I have no trouble with it flaking throughout the day or what not. I love it!

  • NARS Kohliner, (Minorque, RM 96)

NARS Cosmetics introduces Kohliner – Audacious Mascara’s partner in line. Creamy and concentrated, this matte-black formula smokes out lash lines and defines waterlines with bold precision.

The propel/repel design and soft, rich texture allow for an easy application that won’t skip or drag, while its unique combination of polymers help extend wear and color payoff for a long-lasting look. Buildable. Blendable. Bold.

I cant remember the last time I used a black pencil liner because I’ve only been using liquid liner and leaving my waterlines bare but this Kohliner has got me hooked. It’s very creamy and soft and its the best thing to use for a smokey eye. I am the worst at smokey eyes I swear but with this, all you need to do is to smudge this on your lids, blend it with your finger, set it with a translucent powder and you’re all set (a tip that I got from the NARS makeup artist).

Here’s a photo of me in the midst of a makeover by a NARS makeup artist. I had to capture this coz the difference was so bizarre, just look at my eyes HAHA. On the left, she used the Kohliner on my lids, to tightline both my upper and lower waterlines and finished things off with NARS Audacious Mascara.

As for longevity of this liner, on the lids, it stays on and doesnt smudge but on the waterline, it moves around a bit and I find the need to reapply. But this is maybe coz I have really watery eyes I dont know. When it comes to removing it at the end of the day, it’s super easy too like the mascara and all I use is Bioderma and it takes every trace of the liner off my eyes with no need of pulling or tugging.

So yeah guys, those are my thoughts on the new NARS Audacious Mascara and the NARS Kohliner. I love them both but if you wanna try just one thing, I’d definitely say go for the NARS Audacious Mascara because it’s everything and more 🙂

Thanks for being here! xx
